The need for psychological safety is well understood across many industries, from critical patient care in nursing to software engineering.

While the need for psychological safety is understood, exactly what it means and how to achieve it are not so well understood. The behavioral changes needed are much more subtle and far-reaching than people realize.

We’ll talk about some real-world examples where lack of psychological safety lead to a major outage and unpack the various ways that psychological safety, or lack thereof played a role in the outcome.

By looking at the ways psychological safety impacted the situation, we can take away practical tips for how to integrate psychological safety into our leadership for teams and organizations.
